The Media South Asia project aims to promote broadcasting in the public interest in South Asia and to bring the views of civil society on broadcasting matters to the attention of governments, broadcasters, and other relevant target audiences.

It is based at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies at London University and works in close collaboration with broadcasting organisations, NGOs, programme makers, journalists, trainers, researchers and academics in the South Asian region.

The project conducts research, holds workshops, funds attachments and works with like-minded organisations to achieve these ends. It is committed to developing a South Asian perspective on global, national and local broadcasting issues. It encourages cross-fertilisation across South Asian borders in the interest of developing vibrant, diverse and responsive media in all countries.
